About the Author
Danielle was born on October 7th, 1986. She is the eldest daughter of 3. Her late father was a retired veteran, and her mother is a homemaker.
Danielle’s childhood was no stranger to challenges. Being a military kid, her family moved around quite often. This made it difficult for her to make and maintain friendships. It was books that helped her navigate those challenging times. She fell in love with reading at a very young age. Books became a constant and a source of comfort to her, when other aspects of her life weren’t so comfortable. Some of her earliest favorite books/authors were the Amelia Bedelia books, by Peggy Parish, the wonderous tales of Hans Christian Andersen, and the choose your own adventure
novels by R.L Stine. Reading books with her mother is one of Danielle’s most cherished childhood memories.
As Danielle got older, many things in her life began to change, but her love of reading never faltered. If anything, it only grew. She even began to dabble with writing, creating stories of her own. All throughout high school and college, Danielle devoured the library, and took as many literature and creative writing courses as she could. Some of her later and current favorite books/authors were “The Lord of the Rings” novels, by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling, and other novels from the brilliant minds of Dean Koontz, Rena Barron, Jane Austen, Luvvie Ajayi, and James Patterson. To this day, Danielle maintains that the character, Samwise Gamgee, from "The Lord of the Rings" novels is one of the most beautiful and selfless characters in literary existence.
She got her high school diploma and later went to college, obtaining her Bachelor of arts. For now, Danielle is busy building her writing career and focusing on other aspects of her life. One day, she’d like to go back to school though and continue her education.
In the beginning of her writing journey, Danielle only ever wrote for herself and, on rare occasion, friends and family. She never dreamed of writing on a larger scale until the idea for her current series, “The Red of Blood and Roses” came to her.
It was a reoccurring dream that initially sparked the ideas for her incredible series. Danielle says it was a dream that both spooked her as well as fascinated her. After some bad weather rolled in, canceling her plans for the day, Danielle opted to stay home and work on some writing. Just having had the strange dream the night before, it was still fresh on her mind. So she began to write down aspect of the dream, using them as writing prompts. It began as a way to simply pass the time. Danielle never meant for it to actually go anywhere, but sometimes the best things happen when you least expect them to. Her ideas, sparked by this dream, blossomed into something that Danielle says she couldn’t stop writing about. It fascinated her, even distracting her at work and while she would be out, doing other things. She says she was always so excited to get home and keep writing about it all. Before she knew it, she had entire notebooks full of stories and ideas and she began to realize that what she had created was an entire world, an entire story, and something so much bigger than she’d ever bargained for. And once the story began, she knew she wanted to share it with the world.
Fast forward to now, Danielle has 4 books from her series already completed and published. Book 5 is right around the corner. 6 will complete the series, but she has plans for a 7th spin-off, taking place in the same universe. Danielle has fallen in love with sharing her stories with the world. Once her series is complete, she has ideas for other stories beyond the “Red of Blood and Roses” universe. While she particularly loves fantasy, she says she hasn’t ruled out dabbling in other genres in the future, so stay tuned.
Danielle lives in Canyon Lake, Texas, with her husband and their two dogs. They live a quiet, simple life, enjoying the local parks and frequently visiting book shops. They often travel to nearby Gruene, Texas to explore the shops, music, and cuisine.
